JZMK Partners, Fuscoe Engineering and The New Home Company team up to fight hunger in the OC
COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA – August 24, 2017 – JZMK Partners, Fuscoe Engineering and The New Home Company have joined forces as a CANSTRUCTION team in Orange County’s 10th Annual CANSTRUCTION® charity event, taking place at South Coast Plaza from September 2-23.
CANSTRUCTION® Orange County combines the fun of a design-build competition with an imaginative way to feed hungry people. Local architects, engineers, builders and design firms create structures built entirely out of canned food. JZMK Partners, Fuscoe Engineering and The New Home Company, aka team #CanCrusaders, will “CANstruct” an approximately 9-foot-tall by 7-foot-wide Lego Batman and a Lego Wall.
“There is nothing more fulfilling than to lose yourself in the service of others,” said Natasha Geverola, a technical designer at JZMK Partners and one of the #CanCrusaders’ team leaders. “It has really been an exciting experience leading CANstruction this year, but it really couldn’t have been done without the collective effort from the entire team. Our structure, Lego Batman, is a reminder of how each and every one of us, no matter who we are, can take action and work together to be a hero. With that said, I am extremely grateful to see everyone’s support and creative efforts to raise over $12,000 which allowed us to provide a variety of food items such as tuna, pasta, beans, nuts and protein bars to donate to the OC Food Bank for those in need.”
The finished Lego Batman and Lego Wall structure will be on display at South Coast Plaza, Crystal Court (on the third floor) Sept 2- Sept 23. Afterwards, all of the food items used are donated to the Orange County Food Bank.
